As you read this, the sun has just set on a historic day in Fiji.
An XXL swell has been battering the island of Tavarua, and the world’s best big wave surfers (and Kelly Slater) have spent the day pulling in to some incomprehensibly thick lumps of Pacific ocean.
Footage and photos are currently thin on the ground as the collection of attending lensman scramble to cut together their highlight reels. However, one incredible clip has emerged.
It features Chilean charger Ramon Navarro scoring what many are already calling the biggest wave ever surfed at the world renowned Fijian reef:
Is this the biggest wave ever ridden at Cloudbreak ?? @surfnavarro on the wave of the day only a few hours ago at Cloudbreak!!! Hold on tight for a full edit from today’s magic session when the Pacific Ocean really came alive !! Even the king @kellyslater is on the shoulder double hand claiming this thing !!! 🎥 @owenmilnemedia
Check back soon for full coverage from the swell.
